AI Isn’t Replacing You—It’s Freeing You to Do More of What Matters

Hello ,

At the start of this year, I planned to take things slow—easing back into work and waiting until April to relaunch the Wisepreneurs Podcast. But then, Filip Drimalka asked if I’d like to have him on the show.

Just like that, we recorded episode 67 within a few hours, which went live last Friday. It was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up—Filip’s book, The Future of No Work, offers fascinating insights into how AI transforms how we work.

Rather than fearing AI, we have a chance—at any stage in our careers—to embrace it and redefine how we work. Filip challenges us to see AI not as a threat but as a tool to amplify our expertise, increase efficiency, and open new possibilities.

By the way, Filip talks about taking a ‘workation’—travelling while working—which he embraces fully. Based in the Czech Republic, I spoke to him while he was in Sri Lanka, just before he headed to Australia. On a similar note, I’ll be travelling for the next month, setting off this Friday on a three-week cruise to Japan, followed by a week exploring the country before flying home in late March. I will keep in touch in the meantime.

How AI Can Empower You to Work Smarter, Not Harder

If you’ve ever wondered whether AI is a threat to your work or an opportunity, Filip Drimalka has an interesting answer:
AI isn’t here to replace professionals—it’s here to amplify your expertise, free up your time, and open new doors for innovation.

Filip, the author of The Future of No Work, recently joined me on the Wisepreneurs podcast to share his insights on the evolving nature of work. His message? AI isn’t taking away jobs—it’s changing how we create value.

I think for the independent professionals over 60, this presents some incredible opportunities to explore man.

AI as Your Personal Productivity Partner

Many of us have spent decades building deep expertise, honing our skills, and delivering real value to our clients. But as Filip points out, knowledge work is shifting—not disappearing.

AI is an extension of human capability, helping us work faster, smarter, and more effectively.

Rather than getting bogged down in repetitive tasks, you can now:

  • Use AI tools to summarise research and generate reports in minutes
  • Brainstorm ideas with AI to spark creativity and problem-solving
  • Automate scheduling, emails, and administrative work
  • Dictate notes and have AI polish them into professional content

These aren’t futuristic concepts—they’re things you can start doing today.

Mindset Over Tools: The Key to Thriving with AI

Filip emphasises that AI skills aren’t about mastering a specific tool but about having the right mindset.

Instead of asking, Can AI do this? Start asking, How can AI make this easier for me?

Here are three simple ways to develop an AI-first mindset:

  • Start Small – Experiment with AI for simple tasks like drafting an email, summarising an article, or brainstorming business ideas.
  • Talk to AI Like a Consultant – Instead of typing robotic commands, have a conversation. Ask AI to refine, simplify, or offer alternative perspectives.
  • Combine AI with Your Expertise – AI is great at gathering information, but your experience and insight make it valuable. Use AI as a starting point, not the final answer.

The Future of Work = More Freedom

Filip’s ideas align perfectly with the Wisepreneur's mission: empowering independent professionals, most often women over 60, to work independently, productively, and with purpose.

AI isn’t here to force you out of the workforce but to give you back control over your time and expertise.
