Sarah Duran is a fractional COO and the founder of Fruition Initiatives. Based just outside Denver, Colorado, she has spent a decade helping solo and microbusiness owners build the operational systems that let them grow without burning out.
Sarah started her career as a third-grade teacher before spending six years at educational nonprofits. A job that checked every box on paper — great pay, benefits, remote work — left her unhappy within four months, and she couldn't figure out why. She quit, picked up contract work to make ends meet, and discovered something unexpected: working for herself gave her the freedom and autonomy she had been chasing without knowing it. Two years later she incorporated Fruition Initiatives.
Her work sits at the intersection of strategy and systems. She uses a six-point operational audit framework covering strategy and systems, clients and services, and profit and value to diagnose what is actually holding a business back — which is rarely what the owner thinks it is. Her sweet spot is businesses crossing the $500,000 revenue mark, the point where running everything on instinct stops working.
Sarah is the author of Instant Freelancer and runs the Solopreneur Collaborative, a group program bringing COO-level operational thinking to freelancers and solo consultants.
